Herb of the month:  Lamb's Ear
Presented by:  Caroline

Guests are always welcome at our meetings!
Come & bring a friend.  We invite one & all to come to one free meeting, any meeting you wish.  Come hear the program, eat the fantastic homemade herbal snacks that members bring to share, & see what's on the freebie table.

Members receive an herb plant each month, free with their $25/year dues, usually 9 or 10 free plants per year.  The monthly meeting includes a presentation on the plant that we receive. Meetings are fun, please come join us!

Volunteer Opportunity

The Good Food Project - The Food Bank of Central Louisiana has planted 1/3 acre with an organic herb & vegetable garden to the side of their office at 3223 Baldwin Ave behind Sam's Club in Alexandria, LA.  Needed: volunteer workers.

Each Wednesday from 8:30 am-11:30 am all adults and children are invited to come out for a workday, a fun day of learning and giving back to the community. Food Bank slogan:  Let's grow together!

If Wednesdays aren't good for you, call to set up another volunteer day!

Call Frances Boudreau
x, Director of the Good Food Project at the Food Bank (318) 445-2773 or e-mail her at the address below. We encourage you to tell her about any skills that you can provide.   Ask to be put on the mailing list for the monthly newsletter called Sprout with lots of info on organic gardening.  E-mail Frances at:   fboudreaux@fbcenla.org

The Food Bank's Good Food Project now has a number of additional vegetable gardens in our area, both community gardens & school gardens. Ask Frances Boudreaux if she has a garden in your own area that might be more convenient for you. Frances has found that children will actually eat broccoli if they grow it themselves. Come help!
